Anyone here familiar with any Bay Area Rap?
Names like Mac Dre, Keak da Sneak, E-40 (kind of going mainstream), Andre Nickatina (really famous)... I love this music, getting Hyphy, Thizz or Die, all that shit. I can't live without it. Hyphy is like the Bay Area equivalent to Crunk... More about ecstasy and less about alcohol though. Thizz is a term used for ecstasy, which is a huge thing in the Bay Area. So, anyone big on Yay Area Rap? We get Hyphy in tha Bay boy... |

Also, if you have any questions about the Bay Area rap scene, I would gladly take a stab at answering them, thanks.

I've heard of Mac Dre and I don't really listen to rap
By the bay area rap I'm assuming you mean in California? Is this where a lot of the new rap is coming from? |

Yes, the Bay Area in which I speak of is in Northern California. As for new rap coming out of the Bay, yes, there is a lot of new stuff being done here, it is a very strong scene but as for you hearing it outside of the Bay, as in MTV, it will never happen... It's all underground, really... I think there is one radio station in the Bay that plays this stuff. |
