I'm thinking about starting up a boutique dealing with eco fashion for both men and women. When it comes to the clothing, would you be willing to pay a little bit more knowing that it was made in an ethical way, in which could be saving our environment? Also, would you buy clothing from designer or celebrity labels who have also joined the eco fashion bandwagon?
Do you believe that this market is just for the eco conscience or for average people willing to pay for it?
Any ideas welcome. Thanks!! :)

The term Eco-fashion refers to stylized clothing using environmentally sensitive fabrics and responsible production methods. Clothing and accessories that meet these criteria are commonly used in organic materials such as cotton grown without pesticides, or reusable materials such as recycled plastic from old soda bottles.

I think it would be a great idea since all eco themed products are hyped to the max atm. Maybe you should consider looking for ideas internationally and then get inspiration from a succeeding concept! During my study abroad I saw a quite interesting eco fashion boutique in Japan. I will see if I can remember the name.:)

Someone mentioned the other day that our products are Eco-friendly. I was quite surprised as I hadn't thought of us quite in the 'eco' group and it knocked me sideways that people would consider a purchase from us as a conscientious ethical decision.
I thought our products were more traditional looking but with unique themes.
I think 'eco' promotion can be easily overdone though so if I am going to include this in promotions then it will be as an added bonus not THE selling point.

Eco clothing is well made and has a relatively longer life than conventional fabrics. The companies involved in manufacturing eco friendly apparel should provide adequate support from the Government. The designers who create clothing designs that should point to a timeless design, so it remains a wardrobe staple.

Eco-fashion trend is the result of environmental awareness. Eco fashion is to produce an elegant, fashionable clothes, which are readily produced without the use of pesticides, unfair labor, durable fabric, and practices. You can see the green design and clothing as an instrument of effective social and environmental change.
Eco fashion is really up-and-coming.
I once stayed in an apartment in Berlin (http://www.apartmentsberlin.net/rent-apartment) where the owner was an eco-fashion deisgner and it was fascinating seeing her work. In fact, in recent fashion shows there has been a lot of emphasis on eco fashion!

Eco - Fashion is something which is much needed to protect our environment. No matter how beautiful clothes, accessories might be it should also be eco - friendly and good for Mother Nature. Thanking all those who have been part of eco - fashion.

The country where Mahatma Gandhi four times created a revolution by wearing a simple locally hand woven cotton garment called the Khadi as a sign of independence is still a leader in terms of textile innovations.

Eco fashion is great nowadays for the reason that it supports environmental aspects. If the materials that will be used for the clothing will be environmental friendly, then, it would be so great, in some aspects it will not cost too much if it will be sold, that's what I think.

I run a eco friendly products business and am always asked about the lack of a green clothing range. There are some amazing suppliers of eco clothing, I have designed several t shirts for one.
People will pay extra for green items and this will only increase with time.
Setting up an outlet now would put you in a good position for when this fashion niche really takes off.
Good luck

The fashion is a glamorous and exciting world but also an industry with terrible impact on the environment. As per my knowledge, eco-fashion is about making clothes while taking care of the environment, the health of consumers and the working conditions of people in the fashion.

Eco fashion could quite literally be seen as two entirely different entities. Firstly the idea of ecological and environmentally sustainable ideas being somewhat of a trend, fad, or as it states fashion, something that may be washed away or brushed under the carpet in years to come. Secondly it can be viewed as fashion, as in clothing, accessories, perfumes, aftershaves and footwear, which is made with the environment in mind.

‘Eco fashion’ is a relatively new term in the fashion industry and it basically refers to clothes and accessories that are produced responsibly and are made using eco-friendly products. According to STEP (Sustainable Technology Education Product), eco-fashion clothes pay attention to “the environment, working conditions of the people in the [fashion] industry and the health of the consumers.” Thus, these clothes are the result of a conscious attempt to strike the perfect balance with nature while keeping all parties happy.
