Oh common guys.. take a look agai.. the picture is so weird and messy! I don't think that picture and the design looks great.. just my thought...
Maybe, dee_el07, you should learn about fashion. Fashion is not meant to be normal, "neat", "non-messy". That is boring, hm? You might as well buy clothes from wal-mart and be happy with that.
So here's something I implore you to understand about fashion:
Good fashion is interesting. I dare say my fashion is interesting! More than that: it's genuine to me.
Now, I do sketches for myself. I posted them on here because, well, why not? Does no harm. They are simply that: a sketch. Not an illustration, hmm?
Is principalfashion.com your own site? No wonder you don't like these. Many of those brands on that site I like, but man...EVERYTHING on there is bland. If it isn't your site, I can't imagine you having in in your sig if you don't have taste such as displayed on that site.
This is nothing against you, of course. I am merely a designer defending their designs.

She did a heck of a lot better than I would have if I had tried. I can't draw for crap.

I'm sorry, but I find it incredibly arrogant to say "make a little better" when you a). haven't made any designs yourself, and b). don't even write proper english.
So next time, we should write a little better, hmm?
I'm glad you're satisfied with their products! At least someone is.
I look forward to seeing your brilliant designs, in the case that you do design.

what ever you say! you know, I don't care! your sketch is so f#%^ Ugly!
just admit to yourself that your not really good at it..
and oh, about my english, those are just a few typo error.. relax okay? :D

And this is not something about my english, my signature or whatsoever.. this is something about your sketch..I'm sorry, my eyes feels like it is going to pop out every time I see them.. ugh.. :(

"Your" doesn't make any sense. It should be "you're".
"my eyes feels" also makes no sense.
"typo error" should be "errors".
Just admit to yourself that you're not really good at all this "english" business and become better at it.
Now, I know that I'm good at fashion design. I don't need a vapid individual such as yourself to tell me otherwise. I'll even define "vapid" for you
"vap·id /ˈvæpɪd/ Pronunciation[vap-id]
–adjective
1. lacking or having lost life, sharpness, or flavor; insipid; flat: vapid tea.
2. without liveliness or spirit; dull or tedious: a vapid party; vapid conversation.
Really, it's people like you who ruin fashion for other people. Constructive criticism is fine. Obviously you don't know what this means either. Here, I refer to wikipedia
Constructive criticism is a compassionate attitude towards the person qualified for criticism. Having higher experience, gifts, respect, knowledge in specific field and being able to verbally convince at the same time, this person is intending to uplift the other person materially, morally, emotionally or spiritually. For high probability in succeeding his compassionate criticism the critic has to be in some kind of healthy personal relationship with the other one, which is normally a parent to child, friend to friend, teacher to student, spouse to spouse or any kind of recognized authority in specific field. Hence the word constructive is used so that something is created or visible outcome generated rather than the opposite. Participatory learning in pedagogy is based on these principles of constructive criticism. Here the saying applies that example is better than precept.
Get all that?
As opposed to what you're doing
Destructive criticism is intended to harm someone, derogate and destroy someone’s creation, prestige, reputation and self-esteem on whatever level it might be. This may be done intentionally or out of sheer ignorance and foolishness. Hence the word destructive is used. In practical life destructive criticism may be disguised as constructive to be more painful while harming. Valid examination of intention of critic is when asked to prove, to help or to be somewhat useful at all. Often destructive criticism comes from persons who are envious, cruel and those who judges in fields which are not their own.
I'm trying to be constructive here (in the sense that I want you to improve so you can be a valued member of this community), but that is rather hard when you are being incredibly destructive. Please, don't. You're ruining it for everyone else. I mean, if you're not going to make intelligent posts- is there any point in you being here?

I would love to to see these come to life. The angles, possibilities for material and conceptual drawings are astounding. It reminds me of Yohji Yamamoto.
Thanks FP!
The fabrics are the hard part. I've found the most perfect fabrics for some of them, but the cost is like $80 per M (NZD). So I'm just using a drill cotton for a top, and Organza for the sleeves.
I'm liking the way the sleeves work with the light, but the body of the top still has a way to go. I'm not sure what, though. Maybe it needs so folding etc to make it less "flat" at the top.

WOW! So exciting watching this unfold. Have youconsidering pleating or draping with excess material around the neck. maybe even with a piece or pieces of the organza. I think these pieces will be stunning Eden. hard work but visually stunning.
Hmmm, I think a single pleat could work around the neck area. Thanks for the advice FP, I'll see what I can do with it this weekend!

How is it going Eden? Did you ever get to pull this together??
It's going pretty well!
A pain trying to find exactly the right fabrics, though.
Btw, the first two collections I've designed (sketched) are up here: http://style.nhinds.homeip.net/index.html
And the sketches from my 3rd collection are on my photobucket page: http://s276.photobucket.com/albums/kk31/KarlLagerfeldWasntHere/
Personally I think the 3rd collection is the best.

I REALLY like how the deconstrustion jacket of denim is coming along. Looks good so far on the seams you have finished and I like the overlaying levels of material. I agree your 3rd collection looks really elegant. Very chic without being too dark.
Thanks! I think the whole deconstruction thing is really relevant now.

Oh I agree. Strangely in a structured way. I noticed everything in S/S 09 is asymetrical too so the way your sems come together are really unique and ahead of it's time a little. I feel like you should work at an acclerated pace tso I can order a piece by March LOL!
With the top done up a bit more, and waist in.

I like the looser look as well so it can be unisex style. May I suggest working on the front a bit and then trimming it up so it looks clean/dirty/unstructured/structered? LMAO....writing that made me want to hit the floor laughing but I think you know what I mean in my morning delirium.
Hahaha!
I know exactly what you mean ;)
It's being worked on.

Very very creative Eden.
I've worked out what I'm going to do!
Keep watching folks. It may be a while because whilst I'm doing this little project, because I'm also searching for a seamstress to sew 5 pieces that I've designed. It'll be a capsule collection. I need a seamstress for it because I want these to be damn good pieces- Paris standard in construction.
The denim piece will be covered at the top in undone bow-ties (http://www.istockphoto.com/file_thumbview_approve/2123166/2/istockphoto_2123166_relaxing_after_the_party.jpg
Sort of woven together. The zip will be worked into it.
And thanks for the compliments guys!

I know these were posted forever ago, but I'm new to the forum and just stumbled across them. I read through the comments and saw the disagreement between Eden and the subscriber who didn't understand the sketches. I have to say that, while I really like the feel and direction that the remaining viewable sketch portrays... it IS difficult, from this limited a look, to get a sense of the pieces themselves (I'm sure that was the confused readers issue). That said, I love the second sketch down on the left - with the white contrast sweeping neckline that appears breasted and with crosshatch stitching accents. I can't tell whether the red in that sketch is a shawl or throw, but I think the black dress/long blouse piece can stand alone.
Good stuff Eden.

Dr. Beckmann has commissioned top fashion designer, Ben De Lisi to create the most expensive stained couture blouse ever, to help raise funds for Breast Cancer.
It's a one of a kind piece being auctioned for around £1000, with 100% of the final sale price going to support Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
Take a look:
