Just wondering what is the number one tool or advise people are looking for when they go shopping? What would make shopping easier? What would you like to have available online to assist with shopping and putting looks together?

I saw a segment on the Today show yesterday about standardizing sizes, so people will always know what size they are in every store/designer. I think that would be really helpful in shopping. I really like how at Ann Taylor Loft they make their maternity line standard like that- whatever size you are normally is the same size you are in the maternity line. Things like that make shopping much easier!

Standardised sizes would be a godsend.
I noticed, for dress patterns I'm a 12, but in stores I'm a 10 (UK sizes). Well, most stores that is. Some are more generous than others.

online shopping can be a drag. you can't see the item and all that. It's convenient, but some descriptions are simply marketing tricks and sometimes, they'll shipped the wrong item or the wrong size and won't do the refund! You shipped the item back at your own expense! That's just bad! :eek:

I think the most important factor of shopping online is knowing if this site is credible and secure.. no matter what the produce is or are if they are materials to steal your money, then its no good.

It would be nice to have universal sizes. I am anywhere from a 00 to a five, and so it makes it hard to find the right sizes without trying them on. I also look for an earthy feel.

I agree about standardising sizes, but what I would really love is to know what clothes hang like off of slightly larger models when buying online or from catalogues. Not vastly larger but there's a great difference in the way something hangs from a size 4/6/8 and a 10/12 (UK)!

I do like catwalk clips such as that ASOS and Next provide and zoom functionality too, you can tell so much more about an item.

Standard sizing country wide or better still worldwide would be fabulous but that isn't going to happen. A cool tool would be if you could put in your measurements and it told you what size would be the best fit for you. I guess that's dreaming to.

I think standardised sizing would be fabulous, but what I would really like is new technology that I saw on tele the other night. Apparently its already available in Japan. Your in a shop and they have one of those big invisible like screens and you select the different clothes and colours etc and then you get to see yourself in the outfit. It was awesome. I would love that, so lets hope it comes to a mall near me soon.

I agree. The only downside is when the websites quote erroneous sizes!
