New Designer Forum

Although i haven't been a member here very long, i do a lot of lurking here. I agree with many of the suggested posts here about new forum topics. While i would hate to be the one having to determine which one's they should be because of the quality of choices, may i just say that i would like to see a marketplace for selling. Also having a new designer forum where we can get to know the designer more imtimately (they can have a bio etc). Actually i'm really burnt out on hearing news from so many established designers, even they had to start from somewhere. My business is in accessory design, I'd love to be able to share how i got started and also hear how other designer's got started. So a complete forum for Indie designers would be a great asset here, and i do believe other's would agree with that. Urban Picasso

Yeah I agree, we need an Indie design forum here. I think a lot of interesting and informative posts could come out of a sub forum like that.

This is a fantastic idea.. .. it will help bring in some of the 'older' crowd too.

Let's ask the owner, but I think its a great idea. Wait a minute, I am the owner....let's do it.

What will the subforum be titled?
Where will it go in the index?
Will their be child forums, or just one sub-forum to start?
How will we market it?
Plus any other ideas?

'Indie Designers' as the sub forum heading. Maybe 'Indie Designers and Marketplace' as one? Not sure.

Profile/Designers .. something where designers can introduce themselves.
Selling .. where designers can showcase their new products.
Buying .. where people can ask for things.

That's all I can currently think of.

Ok Sanjay...I'm pleased to hear your positive response. Let's consider the sub-forum as Decadenxe 's suggestion and have the forum name Indie Designers. In other words non-branded named companies. The requirements would be to have a continued working website along with a bio of yourself. This area would also allow you to advertise to the readers any specials or sales that may be available from your site or phoned in orders. I'm still open for other suggestions from anyone.
