I am going to my girlfriends formal soon and i need to get a pair of shoes. Problem is that she is only about 2in shorter than me and is going in a pair of 3in heels. I was going to stick on a pair of boots to grab some extra height cause i dont want the picture to look stupid, but it is a formal occasion....
Does anyone know a good place to get some guys shoes/formal looking boots with a slightly elevated heel? The boots i have will give me 8cm which would be plenty obv i dont want a pair of shoes with heels like girls shoes though.

My best advice for you is to get something comfortable because you might be dancing all night long. If you dance all night long with a crap wooden sole, you will be hurting until the next day. Just look for a decent black lace up and you should be fine.

Just choose a pair of comfortable and nice shoes.

Hi Jimbo,
I hope I'm not too late, but here are some suggestions:
Option 1
Many mens dress shoes will give you an extra inch over no shoes at all. That would stop you looking shorter than her - unless she puts her hair up, which will maker her look a little taller.
Option 2
Heeled boots for men are very "in" at the moment. You could try the
Giorgio Brutini 15897 boot from Zappos or Shoebuy:

Or the YSL Johnny Boot, if you have the money:

Either of these will give you around 2 inches of extra height.
With a slim fit suit (provided you're not overweight), you will look the coolest guy there! - Think 60's rock star look.
Option 3
Get creative and look in the womens side of the shoe store for something with a heel that looks manly;
The Lancelota from Aldo looks like a mans shoe with a wedge heel, and will give you an extra 3 inches of height.

With the right length pants, they won't even notice as heels.
I have all these, and if you have the balls to go for Option 3, the Aldo shoes will be very comfortable for dancing all night - with their rubber base they feel like sneakers (but higher).
Good luck and let us know how it goes.
PS: For some reason the forum won't let me include pictures or links to these shoes, so I have PM'ed them to you Jimbo.
If anyone else wants the info, just PM me.

Johnny Boots: Any particular reason you need to post the same post 10+ times? Consider this a warning.

So I retried without the links (which is the one above), without the pictures, without both pictures and links, etc, and each time the post would be gone when I checked back later. But at least it's resolved now.

Hello,
Choosing a formal shoes is not an easy task, you have to be very careful regarding its style, material and most important don`t compromise with comfort, you can buy shoes from any men`s fashion store or try and specific shoe store for better shoes.

I have been intrigued by your topic so I tried searching the web for shoes that can make you a little taller. I saw some attractive shoes that can increase your height up to 9 centimeters (3 or so inches). You may use a search engine so you will have more choices on formal shoes unless you want to settle on just few options.
