How do you feel about replica handbags, shoes, ect.? A good way to save money on quickly passing fashions, or a cheap and tacky alternative? Remember, there are SOME handbags, shoes, ect. out there that look EXACTLY like the real ones...but $800 cheaper... not all knock-offs LOOK like knock-offs... so thumbs up or down?

^ Not only LV... Here from where I live, there's a replica for everything that's popular.

Sure is... and wow, is it tempting... authenticity cards, dust bags, same materials...come on.
Excuse me if not everyone has $3000 to spend on a pair of boots...

My god yes! It's funny how now I can spot an LV replica or fake jeans right off the bat. I just got rid of a pair of jeans I own cause they are fakes. I realized after looking at the stitching they must have cost someone 50 cents to make, and they look like it too. I am really sick of all the fakes in LA. There is a bad overabundance of them!

I agree with Mudkipz. When a product is replicated it can look exactly the same as the original item. If you ever come across goods replicated in the Far East they are identical, complete with tags/labels etc. Even the stitching the same.
Why do you think this is? If you consider the large multi nationals they now all have manufacturing units in the Far East. So for every 1000 items that go through the front door, legitimately. 100 items go out the back door, illegally. Everyone is aware of this. Managers, Directors, etc. They just turn a blind eye. A similar blind eye to the fact that such poor wages are paid. Local agreements are in place that stipulate any goods siphoned off cannot be sold outside of the country of origin. Inevitably they do. Of course this is not agreed on paper, but this is how it works. Thats why we can buy those cheap replicas.
The problems that exist when products are sold in this manner is that it does not make the item in itself look cheap. It makes the BRAND look cheap. Thats why you have the likes of Louis Vuitton, Rolex, Timberland, Gucci et al. all losing their market share over the last few years. The brand becomes no longer exclusive.

I have to agree with this line..

Maybe that's the reason why designers are introducing new lines in more "financial-friendly" malls like Target. In a way, you still get to wear that top designer's clothes only it's under a different name.
Besides, I don't understand some people anyway. Brands like LV or YSL exist for people who belong to the upper echelons of society. If you don't belong there, don't force yourself in by buying replicas and fakes and pass them off as authentics because those people will know. Not only are you brandishing cheapness all over your body, it makes you cheap too as a person.

I think that replicas are just clever. I have some replicas from lv but I wear them with confidence and people can't notice the difference. :D

^A lot of people, especially those who are avid fans of the replicated brands do notice the difference.

i guess it all depens on who is buying. because ultimately whatever you buy depends pretty much on how you dress. you can be carrying a real bag and dressed down - compared to one thats dressed up and carrying a replica...you bound to judge and think the one dressed up is with the real stuff! :)

only single-copy or rare antiques / arts must be allowed to have a replica. Unless the shoes or bags are not for the museum, then, these are counterfeits, and not replicas.
