my hair goes down past my shoulder blades: it's brown and naturally straight with a little side fringe.

how do i put my hair in a casual bun? i like them a little dishelveled with a lot of texture, but they always fall out in like five minutes. help?

I would say start out with wet hair. Scrunch some mousse into it, and blow-dry it untill it's dry enough that you can touch it without getting wet but when you squeeze it there is still a little water. One thing to remember when you are blow-drying is to make a lot of texture into your hair. Scrunch, turn your head upside down, all that! Then, pull your hair into a ponytail at the crown of your head. Leave bangs or little wispies around your face. Then take the ponytail and twist it and wrap it around itself. Then put another ponytail holder around it to hold in place, and put at least 4 bobby pins to hold it in. If you want, you can pick a few bits of hair so they stick out of the bun more. This style also looks good with headbands.
