what color shoes to wear

i'm always in a jam whenever i have a new outfit because i dunno which shoes to wear. i've got the basic stuff at home like a black-thin-heeled sandals, white flats, beige chunky-heeled sandals, black platforms, and some other shoes.

1. but the problem is i don't know which color of shoes to wear with my outfits. for example, if i'm wearing beige printed skirt, should i also wear beige sandals with printed designs? or if im wearing dark colored slacks, should i wear lighter colored shoes? please help...

2. also, what do you guys think are the kinds of shoes that every woman should have? im trying to build my shoes wardrobe, is why. thanks in advance. :D

Just in regards to printed items - I think if one item is printed, you should keep the rest plain.. I'd never personally mix different prints together, unless its subtle.

As for me I tend to choose my shoe based on the overall feel of the outfit and the day... it always feels great to add a fabulous pair of leopard print patent leather heels with a black outfit... red with a white outfit...snake/lizard print with biege outfits... If it is about the clothing and NOT the shoes a shoe like to Christian Louboutin Very Prive in Nude is my premier choice!

I usually like to have my shoes clash with the rest of my outfit....so for a biege outfit (lets say a beige womens suit with a 3/4 length skirt) I would wear a dark pair of high heels and find a bag or purse that matches it as well.

I don't like heels very much.
My staples are black flats, gray flats (actually I need new ones, mine are dying) and brown boots. I'd says don't match your shoes to your clothes unless you're going for an all black look. I wear my brown boots with winter and fall dresses. My flats work with everything. Honestly, I have yet to find an outfit they don't go with.

If you're a heel wearer, I think substituting gray and black heels for flats would probably work just as well. I think nude flats are ugly, personally. They just make everyones feet look weirdly shaped.

I don't think you always have to have darker shoes, but I'd not mix a lot of colors with a beige skirt. However, I'd wear white shoes with a navy skirt. I have an outfit I love that's a light fawn brown skirt, white tights and gray flats. It looks really good together.

I'd also consider a killer pair of red shoes a staple for me. I hate wearing all navy/black/gray/brown.

Accent colors! If you are wearing dark bottoms (other than jeans) try to wear darker shoes. Don't try to match the exact color (it never matches). Don't mix prints (that's just a good rule of thumb for all of fashion, not just shoes).

If you are looking for good wardrobe builder shoes. I say a classic black heel! Every girl needs a classic heel! If you want an additional pair...try a nice peep-toe heel that is close to a color you wear often. You could use those with a similar color top and pair of jeans!

choosing the right shoes for the outfit is a bit tricky, cuz sometimes you dont have to wear the same outfit color, you only have to know what's gonna match, for example if you're wearing a white outfit with silver accessories, you can wear a white sandal, but going for a silver metalic shoes is gonna look better, sometimes you have to find a small part color of your outfit and find a matching shoes to wear.

i dont usually tend to wear the same color, i hate to look all in one color, shoes are statement and they have to look outstanding with your outfit.

there is no rule for shoes, shop as much as you want with all the colors, dont stick to one color cuz you will always need others.

If you have a beige colored skirt with a print or pattern on it, I would not recommend wearing beige colored heels!

If the print on the skirt has some other color like brown or light pink then I think it would be good to match your shoes with the extra color that the skirt has.

Also, take into consideration what color shirt you are planning on wearing before you chose your shoe.

If you are wearing a black top with a beige skirt then it would look acceptable to wear cute black heels.

Well, this is a good question :) but no, I think it's not necessary to bear beige skirt with beige shoes, it's enough to chose a color to match it... a brown for example, or a pink, but it depends on the blouse you wear too. This is why I like multicolor shoes :) they match more clothes. :p
