Hey I'm Dave, going to a slightly strange fancy dress party, in that the theme is "fancy" dress, i.e. a fashion trend from any period in time which inspired you. I've decided to mesh the glam rock styling with some electro elements, and am in a quandary as to what to do with my hair (amongst other things, but I'll post about them on the relevant forums)

Some details about my hair: it's thick, between 1.5 and 2 feet long, and ginger.

Questions
1. If I'm curling it, is it too long to just use product, and will I have to locate some heated rollers or summat.
2. If I'm teasing it and making it "big" a la 80s hair metal (think Nikki Sixx), what's the best way to go about doing that

Also feel free to offer any opinion you may have.

backcombing and hairspray is the best way to give it a lot of oomph.
you could also get heavy duty gel and do mental spikes.
and some semi-permanent dye in a bright colour wouldn't go amiss.

Water and sugar. Makes great holding gel.
Only trouble being is if its for a long period of time, 12hours+ it might start going crystally.

use hot curlers and a good hairspray, thats what works for me, and i have extremely long extremely straight hair.
