I'm a student in my final year and have had to come up with a viable business idea.
My idea is to take secondhand clothes (bought wholesale from charity warehouses) and update them for a more 'highstreet' look. Price point not too much higher than average highstreet shop and different sizes will be available. Clothes will of course be washed prior to sale. Very simple concept but the idea behind it is to help reduce textile waste being sent to landfill sites, rather than add to it.
I would really appreciate any thoughts on the idea, any questions and even any negative comments. Thanks!

Thanks Jennie! Big question now, would you buy the clothes? Or rather what criteria would they need to match for you to be interested in buying, i.e. price point, design etc...

Good idea. For me, the design would be the number one factor of my decision in buying the clothes or not. in this case, using materials of 2nd hand clothes would be the selling point. its envirnmental friendly, its cool. Price seems less of a problem here, yet, it depends very much on your target market though.

This sounds like a really interesting idea. Success would depend on the marketing, of course, and what you actually did with the clothes. If you could present this stuff as stylish, or at least trendy, make it stick, and keep the price point compeditive this could do really well, and maybe even start a business trend.

that's a great idea. the designs might be a matter to some people but the market would propbably be researched or something. the material won't be that much of a problem. :D
