depressing teenagers?!

i'm just really bored so i decided to post this topic up. A lot of people around me says that teenagers are usually going through a depressing stage of their life...i know that for a fact at my school since half of my year has gone to the school counciler...but i was just woundering does most of the pressure and stress come from their parents or other family members? i understand that most people don't like depressed people but what's so wrong about them...? :?:
i mean that parents are suppose to help you and all but there aren't a lot of them out there...
