Hi everyone,
I just love my high heels and I'd wear them all the time if I could. But there are some times when high heels are not a good thing! Here in the middle of the UK we've been having snow a bit lately and I've seen girls really struggling with high heels on slippy icy pavements.
Why do we do it? What is so great about heels that we'll still wear them even when the pavements are snowy and treacherous. Have any of you people worn high heels in the snow?! Anybody slipped over recently coz they were wearing heels when the paths were slippery?
Also, why are so many high heels made with soles with no grips on, it makes them lethal on slippery paths!! Does anybody else have problems with slippery high heels?
Cheers,
Louise.

I was wearing kitten heels in the shopping mall the other day and I slipped because the grip has worn out or something! It doesn't matter how high the heel, it happens! Haha. Thankfully, I didn't slip and fall over. I just did like a little slide.. :P

I know it's a stupid thing to do but sometimes the outfit just looks so complete with the heels that you can't imagine wearing anything else with it! Yes...I do have a shoe obsession...and Ive love heels since...forever. Even when I was like 10 I wasn't allowed to wear serious heels but I'd get the tall sandals in the summer...like the ones with the really thick foamy bottom...and I think I hold the world record for person who has twisted their ankle most times in heels before age thirteen...I swear it's a disease...

Yea, high heels+ snow= a very sore ass. Trust me, I found out the hard way while vacationing in Philadelphia and New York...

Hi Louise,
Before I moved to London, I lived in Chicago where it snows for 6 months out of the year (so it seems). :) The best thing is to save your gorgeous shoes and not ruin them in the snowy sludge! Invest in some sexy boots (maybe with a furry trim?) that will hold up in the winter and take your heels along with you. When you make it to "dry land", change back into your heels :) Most women did this in Chicago. Yes, it is a hassle some days to carry and extra pair of shoes, but worth it. :)

I agree with this idea of changing shoes but it can be indeed a hassle. But high heels in snow might be a little bit dangerous... I prefer square heels rather than pointed high heels

Changingg shoes is a good idea. Get some cheap flat soled shoes to walk in and then they'll just slip into your bag when you get there so you can put your stillies on :)

i cannot walk in heels to save myself.
gimme flats any day: i have terrible balance.
but the changing shoes idea seems good, especially since oversized bags are very in this season.
