My best tip to put foundation on is to put on with clean fingers, making sure you get the foundation very evenly over the face.
Then get a really good big make up brush then softly in circles stokes brush over your skin.
Then to finish the look with another big make up brush softly brush over the face a Sun Shimmer bronzing powder manly over the cheeks eye lids and fore head then brush over the rest off the face with the brush without adding anymore powder.

I have found that the normal face powders have been to cakey for the face and can make you look to powdery.

I put a light facial lotion under my foundation. It helps to even out your skin and moisturizes. If you have blemishes you could try using a moisturizer with Salicylic Acid under your make up, this will help clear them up.

i use a moisturizing cream before using foundation, cuz i got combination skin and i know that i will have dry spots later on..after i apply the foundation with a sponge and then i use a small brush and stroke on all over my face to make sure that i dont have a any lines or marks from the foundation, just to help make my face in one color and not missing any spot. later on i use a loose powder to prevent the oily look..

btw, i like using MAC foundation and loose powder..

I'm glad summer is coming. I'll just use a tinted moisturizer. I love how light and clean they feel compared to foundation.

Oh ! Off course you would have to apply a really good face cream on first.

I use Tanning cream the night before , then lightly pat with cold water in the morning then I apply a Hydratant cream as I do find that the tanning cream may dry out your skin, so apply face cream twice , then apply the foundation.

I wouldnt go a day without some sort of foundation on as your skin is open to drit and as long as you take off your foundation proply at night .
I like to think of it as some sort off protection.

There's so many ways to put on make up. For example I put on christian DIOR lotion, then I put on mineral veil ( for people that don't know it is part of bare minerals, or for people that use mac its called translucent powder) which blocks oil. Than I put on mac foundation with a makeup sponge, mineral veil again with a brush....

mousse foundation is wonderful, because it goes matte in seconds and stays that way.

i use medicated concelaer under my foundation and yves saint laurent's concealer over it.

you dont have to put anything on before but then Kate Moss started modelling that Rimmel Primer and i found that Kate Moss can make mw buy anything.

But I dont think it makes much difference unless you have really problem skin.
