I am researching the much maligned over 50s market sector!
Any comments or opinions on the following would be much appreciated, however small.
Do you have any comments on the over 50s lifestyle? Hobbies, interests, pastimes?
Although the over 50s have the most significant sum of income at their disposal, do you agree that this market sector is often ignored by retailers? How?
Is fashion and appearance important to you? In what ways?
Do you think fashion retailers could do more to encourage the over 50s to buy?

Many thanks for all your help,
Claire Jeffrey

one thing i didnt like about the 50's was how everything was way too feminem and all women HAD to be a stay at home wives serve there husbands and spent most of there time having kids. the clothes were pretty but uptight sometimes thats why i like the 60's better where they had more fun with there clothes and the youth and young got more liberation to do more in life than just being a house wife.

Well I reach my 50th birthday this year, as a man I try and remain trendy, slim and attractive.
I am a lover of leather clothes and have been since my teens. I am not gay, and do not wear them with loads of zips, chains and the like.
More of a you can wear out stuff.
I like leather jeans/trousers shorts and lederhosen. Recently I purchased a leather kilt, Wow thats something.
I also like to wear denim jeans and casual pants. I try to shop for a style that not every bloke is wearing maybe thats why I like the leather stuff.
To answer your poll question I believe its up to the individual to shop modern, its there in the shops. A lot of 50+ choose to wear drab and boring clothes but I think more and more older people are dressing trendy, like me.
Peter. :)
