Eye Shadow During The Day OK?

I was told eye shadow durin the day is a big NO NO is that true? I wear light shades (beige, soft nuterls) is that wrong still?

I wear light colored eyeshadow during the day and darker at night. Usually tans and browns.

Eye shadow during the day is fine, as long as it is natural. I wear brown eyeshadow in the day, and I also use it as an eyeliner. Natural colours aren't obvious and they enhance your features. Just keep the heavier eyeshadows for night.

nothing is wrong with it, but its common that light colors are suitable in the day and darker for the night..that's it.. i like to use pink and bronze eyeshadow in the morning..and at night..combination of 2-3 colors..

OH NO THERES NOTHING WRONG WITH WEARING EYESHADOWS IN THE DAY AS LONG AS THEIR LIGHT AND NATURAL , ESPECIALLY IN THIS HOT WEATHER TRY AVOIDING DARK SHADOWS WHICH TEND TO FADE AND SMEAR DUE TO SWEATING... I wear light/medium grey to compliment my shade of eye color during the day, then at night I use the darker grey to create a smoky effect. I always wear a tad of black eyeliner during the day, and night. It makes my eyes look bigger.

i wear near black eyeshadow during the day. i have really big, brown eyes so dark colours help them stand out. it sounds really harsh, but i make sure it's blended well and i get complemented on it loads.

it's such a strange rule: no eyeshadow during the day. where did you hear it?

I've never heard a "no eyeshadow during the day" rule. Maybe they were referring to "night" shadow? Like, don't do your make-up in a way in which it looks as though you are going to a club?

it's definitely ok just be careful and pick natural, light colors, because if you'll choose dark ones your makeup will look like night one and that's rather unwelcome during the day...

I rarely ever wear eye shadow.. only on special nights and events, during the day I stick with neutral blushes,gloss and mascara and I'm good to go. I have naturally really long eye lashes and big eyes so I find they stand out enough on their own. But if I were to, i'd stick with what your doing, like beiges and neutrals for sure!

there is an amazing eye shadow that i like to use in the morning, very good for the medium dark skin *arab skins*..its from Scott Barnes EYE ICE treasure. its a mix of green and pink and yellow, you can never know the real color,very light.

i don't think it's a no-no...just as long as you stay away from dark hues. i personally use neutrals and earth colors during the day (it is also important if you use shades that blend well with your skintone). ;)

You can wear whatever you want in my opinion, just as long as it doesn't look OTT...I personally wouldn't wear dark eye shadow during the day because it looks abit "too much" for just during the day.

today, i have on a dark eye shadow. although i dont usually wear it, its usually just eyeliner and mascara for me. but i tried some today and it looks really good, it brings out my eyes ^_^
although, i can see where others are coming from with preferring to use lighter shades during the day (Y)

if you were going from school/work to a night out, you could wear your colour pale during the day and apply it thicker for night. that way, you get the colour without looking too made-up.

Yes, that's right... I only use light colors if I want to put make up on my face... I think, doing this will make you look younger and fresher...

It´s ok to wear e/s during the day, as long is a light shade, not just neutral, it can be, light pink, lavender, light blue, light green etc etc etc.
But wearing a super dark smokey eye.. uhmm yeah that would be weird..

I'd say it's more than okay; it's as it should be! Even if it's almost nude, you should have something on your lids! Good make up protects your skin, and if you don't wear anything your lids will be shiny ... not good.

I always wear eyeshadow, eyeliner and mascara during the day. I try to look for a lighter shade and a slightly darker eyeliner and mascara.

Some eyeshadows have little bit of glitter, I love this look.

I've used eyeshadow in the day! It all depends on what you're doing, your outfit colours, and how you're feeling :) Let's say... it's a sunny day, you're wearing your favourite yellow scarf, jean skirt and a white tank top. I would wear light yellow eyeshadow too! And if you're working at an office, then a light smokey eye is nothing less than just right. I love these kinds of things, it also shows you care about your face.

Eye shadow at daylight is allright. Just make sure that it suits your skin tone. You also have to make it very light.

I don't usually wear eye shadow unless I will be "socializing". I always wear my eye shadow according to my outfit. dressy-more or casual-less. Purple is my favourite and bronze is a good highlighter. I have dark eyes, so I like some colour that is pretty but doesn't stand out too much. If your are going to take the time to put it on, then make sure it shows. Without going over the top. No one wants to look like a clown!

Go for it, night and day. Just not to sleep!

no no no who ever said that is completely wrong. as for light or nude shadows i would also object to this statement. your eyes are your attentive feature be brave. to really make your eyes pop line the inner lids with a white pencil, and line with a brown shade for a change make smokey your evening look line with black!

Absolutely it's fine! Its a way of expressing yourself. Just make sure your not wearing bright blue at 9am! Keep it neutral!

This is so interesting! I have light light blue eyes, and therefore wear pretty dark eye make up most every day. I have never heard this rule before! I think it depends on where you work perhaps, but for the most part like everyone else said as long as its not "club makeup" i think you will be fine :)

yeah, its pretty ok to use eyeshadow during the day. but not too much. a lighter eyeshadow is good. you add heavy ones during the night if you want to :)
