Knee-high Socks

These are more popular over seas, but I'm starting to see them out on the streets and am curious about what you think about knee-high socks? I'm having a hard time finding them here in the U.S., does anyone know of a website that carries a wide variety of styles and patterns?

I wear long socks under trousers, if its cold in winter.
I often wear long socks with lederhosen. {Traditional} And with my kilt.

I find the whole knee-high sock thing un-sophisticated and school girl. Further you need some hight to really pull it off.

I think It looks great even when your not that tall it depends on the style of the knee-socks and how you'll handle wearing it.

actually i like it.. it looks good on women not really un-sophisticated looks, i saw fergie wearing a knee-high socks and it was gorgeous on her.
