mine was either Bryan Adams at Wembley or Bon Jovi at Hyde Park...
reasons being Bryan Adams, though at Wembley when they appeard on the B-Stage about 5 metres from me it felt so damn intimate, this is a huge world wide known rock star and he's doing a back to back blues jam with keith scot flicking guitar pics around me...woah!
Bon Jovi, well almost 100,000 people, well close up front, hottest day of the year, the gig meant alot to the band, a little sentimental at the end, ray davies guest appaearance, f00king amazing version of Lola, Cap.t Crash, These Days, I Got The Girl with the bands kids about on stage, Keep The Faith with the BOOM BOOM ayayayayayay BOOOOM! na Never Say Goodbye......*sigh*
Bon jovi @ ibrox. Atmosphere was amazing at that gig the band are good on film but it dont touch the actual experince at all. [roc]

it's between 4 different bands, either The Todies at an Edgefest, Weezer at Birthday Bash, The Queers at OKC, or Reverend Horton Heat in Joplin,
The first 2 were at festival type shows, and the last 2 were at small clubs, all them were absolutely awesome.

Metallica/Godsmack St. Anger tour (Earls Court) - 100% energy, amazin songs only played Frantic & Dirty window (solo added) from the new album. the rest were all the old songs
The Alarm - (Waterfront) punk rock!!! great night got right to the front.
Deadmen Walking (Shepards bush empire)- Stood in front of Billy Duffy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Download Fest. (Castle Donny) - best fest i've ever been to, great bands, great atmosphere.
Inkubus Sukkubus - Witchfest 2003 (Croyden) - great band never heard their music before jus heard about them, great music, kinda like power metal meets pagan & vampire lyrics.
Placebo - Sleeping with Ghosts tour (UEA) again packed with energy only fault i thought was the lights, to much strobe lighting for me, thought i was goin to have a fit.
The Damned - (Waterfront) great music, never really heard them before only "New Rose" and "Neat, neat, Neat" but great band, great gig

The most amazing band I have ever seen live was System of a Down at Ozzfest, they are just crazy. Really got the crowd into it, and their live performance actually blows away their albums.

I met former lead singer for the Toadies a few weeks ago as well as the former drummer for Reverend Horton Heat. nice guys :)
Anyways...best live show hands down for me was TOOL
they suspended two contortionists a few hundred feet in the air upside down in nothing but latex body paint and had two jumbo screens that showed snips of porn between scenes of people swimming naked.

I've seen em twice here in Moscow and I got about 10 live videos.
They are great! Matt's voice and the way it swings up and down, from the left to the right, from the outside to the inside and all around, wrapping i'd say.
I was shocked by the way Matt plays the keyboards... F! Selftaught, isn't he?!! Those Rakhmaninov-styled intros and riffs. Awesome, jaw-droppingly awesome.

The best band ive seen so far is KISS!!! i saw them earlyer this year they freakin ROCKED !!! COME BACK DOWNUNDER KISS!!!
Also saw Brides of Destruction in sydney a few weeks ago they were awesome... ANYTHING nikki sixx does is AWESOME anywayz lol
kiss me im shitfaced
09-02-2004, 02:15 PM
kiss are disgusting live now a days, although they were once the hottest band in the world, now live gigs rarely consist of the original line up (which goes the same for albums) and i cant bare lookin at a guy (simmons) in his mid 40's jumpin around stage in a spandex suit which consists of holes revealing too much skin (for a man his age atleast). non the less they were a great band. however one group that doesnt get much worse with age is ac/dc. their live shows are outstandin, absolutely amazing. angus is still full of energy aswell as his brother and co. brian johnsons voice has gotten worse but is still in good shape for his age and any lack of energy is made up by that of the crowd. its amazing to see all these young ppl go to their concerts, shows that yes, we may not be livin in the 70's or 80's but rocknroll never dies! angus is still crazy in his schoolboy outfit, and controls every concertgoer with his hypnotic unmatchable riffs. hes simply a living legend, and they have soo many songs that they always have something different for gigs, each one as good as the other. just cant wait to see em live after the release of their new album. ac/dc, i salute you
Revelations
10-04-2004, 04:39 PM
Well, in the year '86 i went to a concert wich had like a lots of bands, like a Big concert, AC/DC were there, Black sabbath, Van halen, Deep purple. There were over 60.000 people there and i can remember ever bit of it!, It was a wild time and i really enjoyed it, me and my buddy were about 10.000th back, so that was way back, but we managed to squeeze ourself all the way to about 15 line to the stage, and then it was just like a wall in front of us, we couldn't move. There was so much energy and everything, the guys were jumping up and down the stage like hooligans, Only were they not just coming to do business then leave, but they were actually really enjoying themselves, jumping up and down the stage, spinning around, and basically enjoying what they were doing.
I also remember when Van halen performed jump, and bottles were flying all over the place, like plastic so no one got hurt. But we had a great time, those guys blew all other bands playing there, Deep purple were great, playing Child in time and things, us guys just had a great time, jumping about and just going with it.
I'm still just classic rock now, but i do like metallica now, And all the other classics, But us guys had a great time and i still listne to old rock, and aswell i saw deep purple two times this year when they played in iceland, They were still full of energy, mostly only old guys like me ;). But i was at front, touched all of them apart from the drummer, they just all smiled and rocked out, they were still enjoying what they did, and i enjoyed it to, ''Looks at the guitar pick i caught'' ;). But yeah, they were good too, i also saw Metallica which were great, i wen't backstage and to an afterparty with the guys, my god it was fun, But VanHalen has always been a top for me.
Have a good day and may lord bless you.
VanHalen

NIGHTWISH!!!!!!
Tarja was beautiful she has the best voice ive ever heard + to over the band & because she has opera vocals she has to change notes very quickly it must be hard. the gig was amazin, crowd were brilliant and i got to stand abt a meter away from Tuomas!
Velvet Revolver
OMG!!!!! seein Slash, Duff, & Matt on the same stage was a dream come true!
scott was amazin, Duff & Matt came out to sign stuff before the gig. i've got a review in this section.
WASP
Blackie was amazin, great stage presence, awesome set list, even played a medley that included the song that got me into the band - The Idol
DRAGONFORCE

i very much wish for muse to come close to me in the US so i could see them.
anyways, i thought HIM was the best live, they played so well! only bad part was the mixing, turned the bass drum up to much for all those idiots who considered it a hardcore concert and started a mosh pit

I have to change mine, I finally got to see Social Distortion a little while back, the absolute greatest time I have ever had at a show, and The Street Dogs and Backyard Babies were pretty good too.

Well the last two shows I've been too were amazing.. I saw Alter Bridge/Silvertide/Submersed in January and it was seriously awesome, all three bands were great, and I got to meet Submersed which was really cool.. then I went to the Thick as Thieves Tour back in March with Atreyu/Unearth/Norma Jean/Scars of Tomorrow, and THAT was awesome.. except Scars of Tomorrow(their vocalist totally blew it when he snogged this loogie that landed on his shirt, bleh, hahaha) all the band did an awesome job. I have the "Totally Badical" Tour tomorrow night, that should be good too.
