undertones rock even without sharkie!
sharkie had character!!! 8) he's well cool. but he said that he'd NEVER reform the undertones.
oh and id also liked to see The Police! Sting also said that he'd never ever ever reform them. to be honest sting may have been the brains behind the band- but him on his own is crap. the music was so much better with the band! err, songs abt coffee and tea?! wtf?!?!

i would like to have seen bon jovi on the these days tour, cause even if i still like them now, i think the best show they put up was on that tour.
also queen and old metallica (cause i think any song from the new album would ruin any show lol)
Joeykid
02-27-2004, 09:39 AM
nah metallica suck live now, every show is the same
yeah there is the atomosphere but throughout europ on the rock festival tour the most they changed was the name of the place they're at
they've lost all thier style really, its "oh look metallica...*yawn*"

to be honest i just the studio atomosphere, now some might think WTF? lol but the arguments, the music, its just cool, its life but cool. id love to be there when they come up with a riff, any band this is, just the excitment you get when you hit something and then it clicks and "wow, shit, what was that? play it again play it again"
i remember reading that aerosmith from way back when started to tape EVERY studio session they ever did, not for future money making or anything but for the fact that when you do something, just messing about in the 6string or smashing away on the drums you play 'something' and then need it, love, it, want it, you need to play the tape back (make a note they're all crack heads so,....) lol
man that would be ace!

yeah the band were, they still are tho they wont be doing it again, ill put money on that, the overall fan reaction wasnt too good and sales wernt great soo.... its just not in the minds of a Universal to distribute something like that again, tho they have said with the box set they may release it on an indie label if the others dont sort themselves out

im not as harsh as you but i share the same opinion, and no lets not argue about it again!

Twisted_rock

from what i heard both from bootlegs and from other ppl maiden are among the best live acts there are. don't know if kiss was better, cause kiss were popular only cause of their live acts and their image, but i would like to see that for myself

they still are, drawing in huge crowds in the US, thats one thing...did iron maiden ever do as well in the states as kiss did over here? i dont think so....
i think kiss are a much more superior band to maiden, even now they can do a longer set than maiden without having to give up, vocals are in much better condition and they havnt stopped scince the 70! still im not putting maiden down, they have the respect they deserve and thats great, just personally dont like the sound, i dissagree a little don...im dissapointed in the bootlegs i have

did nobody mention the mighty led zeppelin!?!?!?! u guys shoudl be ashamed of urselves, Jon Bonham must be looking down in disbelief, they were rumoured to be the best act of the 70's and everyon i know thats been to one of their shows has confirmed this. i mean come on! 15 minute Bonham drum solos, Jimmy Page's breathtaking riffs, Plants mighty presence and great voice, even the least talented of the lot, JPJ, usually has something up his sleeve. i cant understand how anyone could mention anyone but them. having said that seeing the doors back when jim was still alive would have been amazin too, as would Pink Floyd be anywhere between dark side of the moon to and incl. the wall ...oh ye and one more lynyrd skynyrd. BTW virus on dope, motley crue are set for a reunion world tour in late '04-'05.

Everything you said puts me off Led Zep, I think drum solos are a crap waste of 15 minutes, I could fall asleep at a Motorhead drum solo and they have one of the best drummers in the business!
As for the guitar iv spoken to many guys who have seen Led Zep live and those guitar solos……he couldn’t hack it, he would fade off out of stage light when he couldn’t hack the solos anymore, he’d be too drunk to perform them most nights! Same with vocals, it got to the point still early on in the ‘high point’ of their career where they were too drunk and fucked on cocaine onstage to fulfil a show for their fans

well joeykid, its too bad that u dont appreciate drum solos, but surely u cant think that they must have been crap live. have u seen any of their live perfomance dvd's? cause those will surely change ur mind a bit, and give the guys a break, everyone was fukced off cocaine in the 70's, as for the bad page solos i cant say anything but to ask u to look at the led zeppelin double dvd that was released last year which captires stunning performances, and even if they werent the best live, all those zeppelin classics juts have to give u a yearning to see them, hell, why do u think the whole worlds waiting for a reunion?

oh dammit dude you have fallen for it.....my heart goes out to you...what the hell do you think bootlegs are for? its to capture the full live show how it sounds to the fan and how it was without drowning the vocals and guitar in digital effects and showing the bits the band want you to see. yes i have the official dvd (err 2 dvds one is a documentry type thing) and the most recent one that came out in 2003. yes they're good but its 'fake' to an extent, its what the band wnat you to see. let me quote the 'led zeppelin tape collectors guide' to you, its about one of the most famous bootlegs to be released called 'Blueberry Hill' now this is typical of most led zep shows mate..
"[Though] it is ... full of suprises and rarely played songs ... the playing is merely average at certain points, [whilst] Page's fingers are a little sticky and he performs a rather lazy concert"
sorry about the spelling i just copied it out my book fast...
right now that is 3 albums into led zepps career and it didnt get any better.
i like the band i apriciate them i enjoy listening to some of the greats they knocked out and if they tourded again yes id go but your really hyping them up to be something they truely arnt....it doesnt take much research to find how poor, (eeik!!) they really were, same with the beatles, they're one of the worst live acts to this day...can you belive it? what everyone says and praises of the beatles and they one of the worst if not THE worst live act.

http://users.adelphia.net/~despec/thereviews.html, theres a bunch of concert reviews there from zeppelins 11 year career, wonderfully written and seem to capture the concerts well, not all their concerts were great, but a great lot of em where. and having wathced the moby dick drum solo on the led zeppelin 2003 dvd yesterday night AGAIN, i just cant understand how u cant enjoy drum solos, but thats irrelevant.
and ye the doors must have been amazing, fuck the doors of the 21st century! not that ian astbury is a bad frontman or anything, hes just not jim morrison, and robby krieger(who is largely underrated) is too old just like the rest of the band.

van halen? wuts wrong with seeing em today? a friend a mine saw em in the summer and he said, other than the 30 year olds with mullets thinkin they were in their late teens, it was a pretty good show, eddie was smashed and could still play like the best of em, but i guess the ideal time to c em would have been the dlr era, but nobody wants to see a 40 year old in spandex doin splits.
