The Emperor Of Ice Cream

For all of you college students: Take a look at www.ruckus.com . It's an answer to internet radio, but it's better 'cause you download the music and can play it even when not connected to the internet. It's got a fairly strong selection of music, and covers pretty much every genre.
The only downside, if you choose to view it this way, is that the files you download are in a proprietary format and can only be played in the Ruckus audio program. Other than that, the downloads are fast and easy to start.
It's free to college students, but I don't know how much it costs for those not going to school. Additionally, you can purchase access to online video -- or, if you want to put the music on your portable mp3 player, you can also pay to do that.
