I think any open minded lover of music should give a listen to this man. In Pakistan and India he was revered as a true maestro before his untimely passing. His songs are all devotional in nature, but they are influenced by a Sufi vibe which makes them intoxicating is listened to with an open heart.
Anyone else a fan of the big man?

I just looked him up on Rhapsody, and I'm enjoying the Rhapsody-recommended tracks. My best friend went through a big kick of this type of music, so I'm familiar with the sound of it, if not the artists associated with it....
what are some tracks you recommend of his? I'm listening to "Allah hoo Allah hoo" right now...very cool stuff.

I think the cleanest and best produced work is on the albums that Peter gabriel put together on Real World records- start with Mustt Mustt and work your way through.

I think I only heard a song or two of his, but they were covered by Asian Dub Foundation. Would love to check out his music...too bad he's passed on, he sounds very inspirational.
