visual layout (done)

indent and space paragraphs
bold 126 text labels (Band, Album, Genre, etc in reviews) in /v2/issues/ except 2nd "Album:" in /may06/gates_called_beautiful.htm
bold text labels (Interview, Editorial at bottom right)
unfix clouds at the top
top right menu links become disabled after scrolling up and down (in firefox only?)
this problem appears to have gone away after unfixing the clouds
iframe not displaying in opera (no height)
review pages start at the bottom window.scrollTo(0, 0)
there is a lot of unused space at the top; consider cutting it down or add banner(s)
background repeats (http://fcrunk.wellimean.com/ss/ic.jpg) on high resolutions

images (done)

link top IC banner to home
use JW's improved menu images
rename REVIEWS to CURRENT ISSUE or something so as to not be confused with VAULT

structure

consider getting rid of /v2/, moving everything to the root folder /
independentclauses@hotmail.com looks unprofessional; consider setting up @independentclauses.com emails and redirect one to the other
better integration with blogs and forums
get rid of Media until it works
add my name to the staff list to euphemise "backend"
customize 404 page from default to redirect to IC.com; example: http://www.independentclauses.com/hkgas/asdfasdgnkjas

backend cms

archive old reviews into a database
control panel to submit/edit/delete articles
set up passworded accounts for each writer so they can submit their own articles, and the editor-in-chief (Stephen) will in turn assemble these articles into an issue?
Article fields:

THanks for getting this list set up.

I've been swamped with school starting, but now I'm going to check this every day, and I'm ready to get this rolling.

I like all of the ideas. I really, really, really want to get the indent and space paragraphs thing to work. I send the articles to Jonathan with paragraphs, they come back as a block. I think that would be the best first thing to take care of.

So yeah, just tell me what you need me to do, and I'll get on it. Otherwise, I'll look forward to your updates in this forum as to how you've been doing. Or, as I see the changes show up on the site, I'll be thrilled and come post here.

Again, thanks so much for doing this, and I'll be checking this forum daily to make sure that any communications between us go in a timely fashion.

I have indented the paragraphs in all pages starting from May 06. There are 190 pages affected in total so there may be some discrepancies that I have missed, if you notice any let me know. One thing that might be unwanted is the reviewer and email at the bottom are also indented.

I have set the current issue as the homepage for the time being because the music player alone says and does nothing.

Is the W. W. Lowman review missing? The first one that's supposed to be from December 06.

Does "Tracks from Another Planet: January" exist and if so where is it?

I have both of those files, but apparently they weren't in the files on the website. I can e-mail them to you, if you'd like - or however else you prefer to get the files.

I really like having the current edition as the homepage for now. I'd like to get the music player working soon....I have the music for it, but we just never had a good way to store and play it. At least, not that I know of. Media was good to go, too.

You can email them to me, or if you know how, FTP them directly then let me know where they are. Whichever is easier.

We have two blog contributors now: www.theplugg.com and http://alienhits.blogspot.com/ . If we could list those The Plugg and "#1 Hits from Another Planet" under Blogs and take out the link to indieanthems.com (we're not associated with them any more), that would be great.

again, thanks for spiffying us up.

Alright, I sent 'em.

Now, when our updater goes to update, will he do anything different? Or will it be the same as always?

And the reason we have /v2 is because we wanted to keep the old links from our first layout the same so that the links from people's myspaces worked. He just dumped the new files into /v2

It depends how he updates; if he does it the usual way then I'll have to go through to indent all the paragraphs. I could explain to him the changes I've made so he can update accordingly, or you could send me all the articles and I'll do it.

Hopefully by next month I will have set up the automated system so there will be a lot less work involved in updating.

his e-mail is jonathanratzlaff@yahoo.com

I'll also be sending you a zip file of all the files, so you can choose which method you prefer. I'd go with doing it yourself, since you offered- you seem more reliable than he does at the moment - but whichever works best for you. Thanks again a ton....this really helps us look a lot better.

also a recommendation: change the background color to #134d5b

On big screens like mine instead of smoothly transitioning with the bgimage it goes to a different color. if you want to see what I'm talking about I'll post a screen shot
