i was at the Haste the Day, Calico System and Heavy Heavy Low Low "12 days of christmas tour". the pit was insane and i got a busted lip, a fucked up leg and *drum roll* a mild concussion. it was the worst i've gotten in a pit. anyone else have any horror stories?

oh yeah, the show was three days before my surgery. it was kind of a last hurrah before the surgery

I'm not a huge pit goer. Mostly cause I'm a big wuss, but last time I went in I got punched in the head and face, kicked in the back and leg, and got my fingers stepped on.

My friend got his tooth broken in a pit about 2 weeks ago, its all soft and moldable.

Someone I know?

I usually only get involved in the pit if I get angry enough with all the 12 year olds running in to me.

i had a 12 year old kid start "floor punching" and spinning, so i put my arm out because he was a ball level, as soon as he bumped into my arm, he looked up, stared at me for a second and them ran away.

the shows i go to, either it's some indie band where the crowd is completely stationary and just kind of nods its collective head; is skanking because it's ska, which i refuse to do because it looks ridiculous, or is spiky and too dangerous for my fragile little bones.

I've gotten trapped in the middle of a pit once, at Warped Tour.
Pretty much the scariest few seconds of my life, and then I got pushed up against a fence and I couldn't breathe...
Pits are NOT meant for little asian girls.

haha

I was at a show once where some girls were just dancing and a guy in front of them didn't want them to so he hit one of the little girls so hard that she nearly made all of her friends fall with her

I wanted to punch the guy in the face

yeah...people always get mad when we try to spread the pit out because we make a circle in the center of the pit and run backwards. we always end up knocking people over but we figure it's better than kicking them in the face later

The guys in the midwest push each other back and forth until a circle forms by the crowd moving out of the way of these huge dudes flying at you.

lol, that would work too. the biggest problem at the only decent venue in harrisburg is that it attracts more kids than fit in so we end up being to packed in to dance until kids start going outside to smoke and do other non sXe things

The hardcore shows in my city there's no ridiculous spin kicking or anything, purely awesome twostepping, haha.

...and of course, volcanic circle pits.

Not really a fan of crazy pits, but I like at smaller local shows when you know the bands, and half the people in the pit.

Had a blast friday at a show and walked outta there with a big welt from hitting the stage, and a cut but it was well worth it.

Back when I played, I brought friends too all the shows and snuck them in the back or told the door that they were help or part of the band, or various other excuses. But one kid was moshing and pushed a kid through a window at the church. Luckily it was the last time we played there (maybe anyone played there) but it was fun.

Sooo backed. My great city sports an amazing roster of hardcore bands for a small city, one being Risky Business (http://www.myspace.com/riskybizhc, toured with Righteous Jams) and it's always great. Everyone knows all the words and no one gets tired of it ever. Everyone knows each other, everyone loves each other.

during the From a Second Story Window set, a guy (outside the pit) started windmilling, knocked me over the head (he was about 6'6'' i'm 6'3'') knocked me out and when i woke up i spit out two and a half teeth. that was my worst injury, of the night but i also got my knee kicked sideways, nobody caught me when i went off the stage, and a kid intentionally kicked me in the face. that was a rought night

Is that a new injury in addition to the ABR injury, or is that an old one?

if it's a new one, your shows are becoming very expensive experiences.

those injuries were all at the ABR show. but for some reason everyone went crazy durning FASSW
