Who here listens to Gnarls Barkley?
Their first music video was just leaked on the net, and I love it.
I have 8 of their tracks from their upcoming CD and can't wait for the release.
Who else is a fan?

I'm listening now, it sounds like they have a lot of soul/gospel influence which makes their music stand out to me - I like it so far :)

Crazy is a great song. Recommend any others? I'll check out his myspace for now, but I heard his new cd is coming out fairly soon.

I don't think I can post the URL for legal reasons... :shifty:
Here is the music video for crazy, one of my favorite music videos of all time:

I don't think it's the real one, a fan just made it, however it is still amazing..

I'm pretty sure we got our samplers at the same place. And I've never seen that video; it's pretty cool.
But out of curiousity, what would you classify them as? Genre-wise? Seeing as how you have limited choices here, but their music touches so many things; I really just don't know.
Like a funk-soul?

Like a funk-soul?
In my opinion, I think they would fit perfectly in that genre.

That Crazy track is ok, but it's been played to death on the radio. Including the indie stations like XFM, which I dont think it belongs to.
To be honest, I dont really like the track too much.

I've noticed Gnarls Barkley more and more and MORE. Playing on the radios, MTV, all over the internet; EVERYWHERE!

I heard Gnarls Barkley on my Alt-rock station.
That's how pervasive their music has become. I liked the song a lot- I don't know if I'd buy the album, but the vocals and the beat were awesome.

Has anyone else heard Gnarls Barkley's album, St. Elsewhere? It's actually pretty good. Danger Mouse can definitely do nothing wrong...esp when he teams up with a rapper turned soul singer. The single "Crazy" is an awesome song. Even cooler, at each of their shows they wear different costumes. did anyone catch the MTV music awards? Cee-lo comes out in a Darth Varder costume. Chewbacca is on drums and Boba Fett is playing keyboard. haha...its awesome.

and I'm not much for music videos...but the one they made for "Crazy" is pretty cool.

this album is definitely ahead of it's time in terms of neo-soul

Merged the two Gnarls Barkley threads together.
I missed out on the MTV Movie Awards, but my brother told me about their performance and was a little sad that I missed out on it. Thank goodness for YouTubians.

I was introduced to Gnarls Barkley by a friend a few days ago, and I love it. It's so different than most of the offerings right now, and I can't resist the urge to dance to it. My favorite song of their album is definately, "Gone Daddy Gone."

"Necromancer" is just about as sick as Sufjan Stevens' "John Wayne Gacy, Jr."
AAAHAHAHAHAHAHA....but "Necromancer" is one of my favorite tracks...and one of the best on the album.
