Is the band Thursday a true emo band?

This is a trick question!
Full Collapse and Waiting were true emo, but War All The Time strays from the true emo standpoint.
Hopefully their new stuff is back on track. But as for now, I voted no.

Yep, usually I'm not quick on the draw with the whole message board thing.
But this time I was here and I couldn't resist.
Next time you do a quiz, I won't ruin it. I swear. Promise.

I voted no, for the same reason as IC. It was emo, yes, but they've changed their tune I think. I must disagree with IC about their future though. I hope they stay on the course they are on now. I was a fan of War All the Time, but I didn't much care for their earlier stuff.

interesting! You're the first person I've met who's said that. Why do you like War All the Time more?

I get this a lot, and I never really have a good answer :). It's hard to describe. I guess I could say that I really appreciate their use of dynamicism on War All the Time, both musically and lyrically. Other than that, I hate to use the cop out, "I like the songs better." answer, but that's all I can come up with at the moment. The album flows, without becoming too monotanous, and not a lot of people can do that as sucessfully anymore as it was done in this album.

see i found the album monotanous because it did flow. the political motivations that made it flow we're forced.
and as musicans they were not together. they've said themselves that they were fighting so much that the music fought.

I didn't know about that. I dunno, maybe I'm weird. All I know is I heard the first two Thursday albums, and didn't enjoy them so much, but when I heard the third one, it kept my interest.

Interesting.
Scott's going to kill me for this (like I'm going to start running as soon as I type it) but I've never been a really big Thursday fan. I mean they're good, but I just never got into them.

although, to be fair, I've only heard part of Waiting and half of War All the Time. Maybe I'll get into them sometime in the future.

Thanks. They're not bad, but I couldn't see myself listening to them daily.

Scott's pretty knowledgeable on things of the Thursday variety. I'd trust him.

The cover they did for the Tony Hawk Pro Skater game was one of the only good covers on there.

I liked a lot of the music on the THPS soundtracks....

I'm only talking about the ten, or twelve cover songs on the latest game. The soundtracks for all the games usually rock.

That cover and their orginal demos are the only things they've done that i havent heard.

Can't say that the cover stuck out to me, sadly. Can't really remember it. Which THPS was it on?
