Someone mentioned these guys to me. Anyone know anything about them? Like them?

I have friends who are in love with this band. They don't even listen to hardcore/metal but they love As I Lay Dying.
I like some of their stuff, but I can't listen to an entire album in a row. Just too much for me.

I have that problem with most metal albums. I tried listening to a Between the Buried and Me album, and after the 5th song, I couldn't listen to anymore.

As I Lay Dieing is just another christian metal band it's basically the same as Underoath's old music but Underoath is better.

I didn't know they were Christian metal. How did you find that out?

As I lay dying is a goood band, they are a lot like other hardcore/metal bands, but they are still good.
I listen to them a lot.
I'm actualy listening to them now strangely enough, they're one of my favourite hardcore/metalcore bands. You'll always know who they are when you hear some of their music, their drums are very snappy unlike most other hardcore bands. Deffenetly worth checking out, listen to these songs;
Darkest Nights
Collision
94 Hours
Kripes

The problem with As I Lay Dying is that even though they have some neat songs, overall their albums don't flow well, and become extremely tedious after a while.

Never heard of them being christian either...care to elaborate?
Anyways I have the album Frail Words Collapse, and I would say check that album out, first and only album I've heard from them, for key songs, I really like the first three the best, 94 Hours, Falling Upon Deaf Ears, and Forever.

I meant As I Lay Dying, not Underoath. I've never heard of As I Lay Dying being christian, I've never listened to Underoath though, I'm gonna go look at some of their stuff to see what you guys are talking about.
Edit: Actually I'm not going to check out their stuff, read the UnderOath thread and can tell that not only because they sing all christian music and such, but the style of music aswell is music I don't like, I will never listen to them. :P

good UnderOath sucks. major big balls.
as for As I Lay Dying. the band could be 100x's better but they aren't horrid. just not a band i'll listen to everyday. they do get points for the reference that is their name

I haven't been to this forum in months, but just strolling along here I found this topic. I've listened to As I Lay Dying for a year or so, and they've gotten old every once in a while, but then I saw them at the Taste Of Chaos and my like for them was rekindeled. They're an insane onstage band and their music is decent. Pretty nice guys too, or so I here, because my brother got them to sign a magazine and shirt for me while I enjoyed the concert. I like Clint Norris's singing, especially in The Darkest Nights and Confined, and Lambesis, the lead vocals, can sound pretty harsh at times, in a good way.

They're like It Dies Today and All That Remains, so if you know of them I'm sure it won't be hard liking them.

Saw them live 1.5 times ... first time I caught the end of their last song (DOH), second time I saw the whole set as they opened for Atreyu. Yeah, they're Christian and all, but IMO they're good. Got quite a rise out of the crowd, too.
