What Genre for Depeche Mode

they have changed over the years

But which are of this forum would you say they should come under?

they used to be called new-wave.

but now that's old.

so they're called rock i guess. labels are stupid sometimes- just love the music lol.

I miss them when they weren't rock. Black Celebration was the sound-track to my angsty high-school days.

Rock is pretty vague. So I guess they fit best under that genre. They've experimented with their music quite a bit in the past years.
