Well, I was just listening to the string quartet tributes to Coldplay, Radiohead, and Pink Floyd and then I started to wonder.

How many people enjoy these versions of the songs as much as I do? Something different, but I really like them. If they performed live, I'd probably go see it once or twice, but that'd be about it.

These tributes relaxing, yet fun. I enjoy listening to the tribute to Coldplay immensely.

Anyone else like these tributes?

Well, I've only heard the Pink Floyd one, but to be honest, I can't stand it.

A lot of what draws me into bands I like are the lyrics anc vocals, and without them it means so little to me.

YES! I love string quartet tributes. They are probably one of my favorites. I think that classical is beautiful and being able to recognize a little more moden song in the music makes it a lot of fun. I was listening to a beatles string quartet the other day it was wonderful.

I am so sad now. I used to have like 8 different string tribute albums on my PC but then I lost them all to the great hard drive crash of '04. :(

I really enjoyed all of them. I can't even remember all the ones I had but my favs were Coldplay, Radiohead, Symphonic Pink Floyd, and Guns N' Roses. Damn I miss having those :(

I've never checked them out- I've never known anyone to buy them, and so I assumed that they were just cheap rip-offs. Maybe I'll give some consideration to them.....I'd like to hear the Radiohead one if it's good...

Wooo

My friend linked me to this one day and I went on a little trip around the internets.

I actually really enjoy listening to this stuff when I want to mellow out and go to bed but still be listening to music I know and can sing along too in my head :D

string quartet tributes are awesome. My favorite is one of Sigur Ros (who uses a lot of strings anyway...) and their song Flugufrelsarinn, but did the tribute...
